Encouraging. Darryl Issa, the powerful new GOP House Oversight Committee Chair, has introduced this bill in the past, but with the change in party control, he's got a lot more clout this time around. Issa is proposing replacing the green card lottery's annual green card allotment with a new green card category for US-educated graduates in the science, technology, math and engineering fields. Frankly, the lottery is a program that is always under attack and I'd rather see the program's numbers go to increasing either the family or employment categories. A voice of reason in the GOP on immigration departs. He will be missed in this process. In the mean time, Florida's new Senator, George LeMieux, is certainly not sounding like a fighter for immigration reform. According to the Orlando Sentinel: LeMieux appears likely to steer clear of Martinez's controversial attempts to overhaul immigration law, which would include a path to citizenship for the undocumented. 'We need tosecure our borders,' LeMieux said. 'After we do that, we can figure what happens to people already here.'

Can students with post completion EAD work for more than one employer at the same time in their own speciality area? I mean to ask, can they work full time with one and part time with other?

i am waiting for my priority date to become current to file for I-485. But it looks it'll take forever, as evident from May 09 visa bulletin, in which the visa dates are unavailable for EB3 India category. Do you know why dates are retrogressing or stagnant in bulletins after bulletins.
I have another question. My birth certificate is in an Indian language which was issued from the panchayat office where I was born. I want to know if that can be translated to English right here in US for I-485 application. Can somebody else who is not related to me write the translation in English and then get it notarized? If this is the case, then I don't have to go to India or get it done from there from the panchayat office, because this may take a long time. If anyone had tackled issues such as this, please share.

One of the stand out football players for the United States Military Academy at West Point is junior Alejandro Villanueva, a Spaniard who played high school football in Belgium. The wide receiver is also the tallest player in all of college football - 6 foot, 10 inches. Villanueva will have to serve five years in the Army after graduating and will probably be deployed to Afghanistan or Iraq. Hopefully, he'll still be able to have a shot at the pros when he is finished.

My attorney filed I-140 on July 5th. No receipt yet. No news also.
He said he cannot send it to TSC, instead he mailed it to NSC. Is that the standard filing place?

Guys, applied recently for EAD and its pending and 180 days has not passed. I am planning to open a part time business. Does anyone know if its ok to start a part time business before the EAD gets approved ? Any insights will be appreciated.

I had infopass appointment yesterday at Dallas. I am waiting for my FP (Check my signature). It was rather simple. They checked the id and the appointment at the outside window and issued a token for me and my spouse (I went alone but took appointment for 2). By the time I cleared security and went inside I already had my token number announced. The IO asked me the reason I was visiting and she checked the 485 notice, punched in something in her system and said you should receive your FP notice within 30 days. She did same for my spouse. I was in and out of the building in 10 mins.

I am wondering what kind of resistance, if at all, is the IV seeing in democratic controlled senate and congress seeing since these bills can be viewed as big business-supported or republican supported.
It would be good to get more democrats to sponsor these bills rathar just have them give lip service to our cause since they have the majority.
