Can you please explain it a bit more clear. I assume that you appled two I485? One for you, with your wife as dependant. And your wife, with you as dependant. Is that right.
If so which applications should have same A number. I though A number is different for each applicant. And how can your wife and you both have same A number?

Following is the situation:
My H1 (6 years) expiring on 7th Mar'08 (have 35 days of vacation might be good till 11th Apr'08)
Labour filed on 06/20/2007 , still awaiting..(so 365 days rule does not apply for 7th yr ext)
Spouse was on H4, got H1 in Oct'2007 (no stamping done for H1).
Falling short of 10 weeks to get the 365 days rule
Options that I learnt for me getting 7th yr extension and staying in the country:
Option1:
Convert to H4 toward the end of H1 6 yrs expiry date till June 20th(to get the 365 days rule in effect)
File for 7th year extension based on the 365 days rule
Convert from H4 to H1 and start working.
Option 2:
Get Canada working visa (not sure how long it will take to get though) and work till June 20th there (to get the 365 days rule in effect)
File for 7th year extension based on the 365 days rule
Stamping in canada to return to USA.
(I am hoping 7th year extension can be done while I am outside the country)
Option 3:
Go back to India for 3 months wait till June 20th,
File for 7th year extension based on the 365 days rule
Stamping in India to return to USA.
(I am hoping 7th year extension can be done while I am outside the country)
Option 4:
Leave for India immediately and stay there for 10 weeks and recapture them along with 7th year extension(while I am in India )
Can the gurus/experts please put in any issues I might be running into or if any of the option above are not at all feasible(may be I am ignorant)

You are travelling at the end of June, that means nearly 5 months from now
Here are my opinion
1) Since you are extending your H1B right now, Why can't yoy apply for premium processing?
2) Mean while Apply for EAD also. You will get in 90 days
3) For AP you can take infopass or call Customer Service -- Normally AP gets approved in 30 days. Check other threads also where others have used infopass to Expedite the case

If you want to change your location of FP appointment then you can do your FP at any location on W E D N E S D AY only(walk-in's allowed).....other weekdays for appointment people only..........tha't what USCIS customer sevice said..
but some ASC's are accepting weekday walk-in's also.................
It's not necessary to to go on the same day and same time at different location........you can go any wednesday before your appointment date.

My H1B extension was approved for only 6 months, based on the SOW (Client Contract) end date (rather than the usual 3 year extension).
I would be just about in my maternity leave for the pregnancy during the petition expiry and if my further extension is denied (god forbid), I was told that I would be terminated from my employers' payroll and I have to leave the country or change my status to Student, Visitor etc.
FYI: I'm working for this company since Oct 2005.
Is there any law that prohibits termination of a worker during her PREGNANCY DISABILITY LEAVE (MATERNITY LEAVE) Or FMLA (Family and Medical Leave) on the basis that the USCIS didn't approve the petition (god forbid)?

We got our EAD cards today.
We had gone for FP on Sept 19th and saw LUDs on Sep 20th on our I-485s. But the EAD cards came without our fingerprints. EAD cards came from the same Service center (Nebraska) where the FP notices came from. So wondering, how they did not include our fingerprints in the EAD card?? I had also checked with FBI helpline two weeks back and verified that the FPs were delivered to USCIS.
Anybody else in similar situation?

I-140 is only for the beneficiary, i believe in the form you need to mention your spouse and children names but the reciept notice or approval notice only contains beneficiary name.

I think u did not submitted your 485 application. You can only apply for EAD once u submit your 485 application. There are three stages of GC...Labor, 140 and 485...Once u have approved labor.. you need apply for 140 when your priority date is not current...When your priority date is current then you can apply for 140 and 485 together. Once you apply for 485 you can get EAD.
Only exception when you are on L2 Visa.

Our lawyer had posted our application on July 2nd and we had our fingerprinting scheduled for 21st august which was completed.
I checked my status on the USCIS site for the very first time today. And it says. "On July 30, 2007, we received this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case" . Can anyone kindly explain me what this means ( how July 30th and what mail are they talking about ?we never received any! ) ...
